Flexible And Remote Working Policy

Times have changed regarding how businesses operate. In particular since Covid-19, remote or hybrid working has become widely acceptable and benefitial for employees and businesses. At the same time, if not managed well, businesses may encounter problems, for example when it comes to requesting employees to work from the office again, or in relation to health and safety management (including occupational health and safety), information security, etc. This policy provides the relevant procedures and clarity regarding the mutual requirements and obligations in relation to informal flexible/remote working but also in relation to formal requests for flexible working under Part 6AA of the Employment Relations Act2000. It also incorporates relevant aspects of health and safety management related to remote working arrangements. This is a 'must have' policy for any business that facilitates or plans to facilitate remote working.
