Whistleblower Policy

Having a whistleblower policy is no longer only a matter for public sector organisations. Whistleblowing policies reflect a business’s understanding of the importance of being aware of serious wrongdoing by or within the business, and the commitment to accountability – regardless of the business operating in the public sector or the private sector. This policy is based on the new Protected Disclosures (Protection of Whistleblowers) Act 2022, and it incorporates all the processes and amendments to the previous legislation. It also incorporates ‘the best practice’ recommendations and guidance from the Office of the Ombudsman - Tari o te Kaitiaki Mana Tangata.
